Lived Experiences of Patients with COVID-19 in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq: A Qualitative Study

Background and objective: COVID-19 has adverse effects on physical mental health threatens the quality of life significantly; therefore, it is necessary to help patients with their lifestyle, which tightly bound lives. The present study aims develop plans improve among by an-alyzing lived experiences. Methods patients: qualitative was conducted from August Sep-tember 2020 twelve hospitalized in Erbil’s Emirates Hospital, Kurdistan Region Iraq. In-depth semi-structured interviews (12) were utilized collect data. Trustworthiness ensured making an excellent prolonged relationship patients, peer-checking, member-checking, implementing experts’ suggestion at every stage. Four main themes extracted interviews, transcribed ver-batim analyzed using six methodological activities proposed Van Manen. Results: results indicated that have a difficult time dealing disease getting adapted new situation, leading remarka-ble decrease Analyzing led emer-gence four themes: “disbelief being really ill,” “fear stress,” “changes lifestyle,” “seriously adhering guidelines.” Conclusion: Our showed suffer pain un-dergo poor due fear stress resulting worsening life. A deep understanding patients’ states situations highly significant nurses nursing managers plan effective strategies for caring COVID-19.
